The GLOSAS project was later the second contender for funding after the so called Fifth Generation Computer Project ($360 million to $500 million) of the Japanese Ministry for International Trade and Industry (MITI), which did not produce any significant results. I decided to pursue it even without any funds, and I believe now that what I have so far accomplished in the past quarter century made more profound affect to Japanese economy and society than the Fifth Generation Computer Project.
