Dear Gabriel:
(1) Many thanks for your msg
(ATTACHMENT I below).
(2) As you see in the References (a), (b) and (c) above, we will conduct
ÒGlobal Lecture Hall (GLH)ÓTM multipoint-to-multipoint, multimedia, interactive
videoconferencing during our conference at the Stevens Institute of Technology
in the morning of April 18th.
Victor and Rob are now finalizing its press release — see its DRAFT #1 in
ATTACHMENT II below.
(3) Colleagues of our Global Early Warning System (GEWS) project for the selected Economic Community Of West African
States (ECOWAS)
in the west coast of African continent will participate in this
videoconferencing — see the last page of the Reference (d) above.
(4) According to Michael, in addition to those colleagues, students and general
public (who can access Internet) can participate in this videoconferencing
through its webinar web site, i.e., they can view the conference room
(including the images of those ECOWAS colleagues) in the auditorium of the
Stevens Institute of Technology.
(5) Hence, our immediate and urgent need of the help from the student group of
your GlobalGiving would be as follows;
(a) As soon as I receive
the final version of the press release from Victor and Rob, I will upload it
here in this list.
I would then greatly
appreciate it if your student group can disseminate it as widely as possible to
publicize the availability of tremendous capabilities of ultra high speed
broadband Internet of GLORIAS (of Greg Cole at the University of Tennessee in
Knoxville (UTK)) via the ÒAfrica Coast to Europe (ACE)Ó of Baharicom
Development Company (of Victor et al at the Stevens Institute of Technology).
(b) I will also upload
the URL of the webinar.
I would then greatly appreciate if your student group can join
in the GLH since they can hear/view the conference so that they can raise
questions to the speakers — they have to send their request to Michael
who would administer the questions.
(6) We plan a subsequent workshop with a demonstration of GEWS on the
verification of energy propositions made by President Obama and former Vice
President Al Gore at the SIPA of Columbia University — hopefully in this
coming fall (Reference (e) above).
We would then greatly appreciate it if we could have the help of your student
group on the system analysis of socio-economic-energy-environment systems and
data gathering of various ECOWAS countries — see the last page of the
Reference (f) above, as constructing global simulation model with distributed
mode in a virtual global supercomputer. This will certainly change the
world with youngstersÕ fresh creative brainpower!! On the other hand, as helping our GEWS,
they would learn many — e.g., system analysis, simulation methodologies,
conflict resolution, negotiation techniques, inter-culture and multimedia
literacy, etc., to name but a few -- in a sense, hands-on learning.
(7) We plan to create GEWS and GUS in many African and other countries.
We will then need many, many help from youngsters around the world.
Pls feel free to contact me if you have any further
questions.
Best, Tak

Tak,
How can a student plot their education to be able to support the GEWS project?
How can an everyday individual support the project in the meantime?

ACHIEVES RESULTS FOR MILLIONS IN TROUBLED NATIONS

New York, ??Date??, 2013:
On April 18, 2013, an international alliance of eminent scientists will
detail new achievements of broadband Internet that will provide basic human
services to millions in African countries.
The meeting will begin with a public presentation and a ÒGlobal Lecture Hall
(GLH)ÓTM videoconference through Internet with participants from some of the ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African
States) countries. Location is the
Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, beginning at 0900 EST.
Among those participating will be Dr. Jerry Hultin,
former President of Polytechnic Institute of New York University, Dr. Thomas Mensah, initiator of broadband Internet, Dr. Victor
Lawrence, Chairman, Baharicom Development Company,
Dr. Greg Cole, Principal Investigator of the Global Ring Network for Advanced
Applications Development (GLORIAD), Dr. Hans Herren,
President of the Millennium Institute, Prof. Tapio Varis, Acting President of Global University System (GUS)
and Dr. Takeshi Utsumi, Founder, the Global Early Warning System (GEWS).
The breakthroughs are a vast expansion of communications capability among
institutions such as schools, health care delivery, and other providers of
basic services globally. The focus is one of the most volatile of current
regions, West Africa.
For the first time, researchers in this region and Europe will be able to
pursue answers to some of the most difficult issues of our day, including some
of the most basic matters of human wellbeing, using the fastest and most
sophisticated available technology.
Crucial to this have been the new communications infrastructures of GLORIAD and
BaharicomÕs new ultra-high speed ÒAfrica Coast to Europe (ACE)Ó
submarine cable with USD $700 million from the European Union. GLORIAD is
funded by the National Science Foundation and various governments, such as
Russia, China, Korea, and India, etc, -- total so far
about USD $280 million.
The GEWS is collaborating with GLORIAD and ACE in building innovative methods
of resolving conflict, providing a foundation for economic and social progress,
and training future leaders and decision-makers, as unleashing and energizing
abundantly available brainpower in African continent for globally collaborative
creativity.
