PROCEDURES FOR SIGNING THE MoU AND FOR PARTICIPATION
IN GLOBAL UNIVERSITY SYSTEM PROJECT

 

SIGNING PROCEDURE

The initiative for this MoU has been supported by Global University System.

The MoU is open for signature to all public and private organizations that share its aims and objectives and are willing to contribute to the work.

The MoU Signatories and promoters will seek to attract more end-users and their representative organizations, multimedia service providers, educational publishers, sectorial trade associations, large and small software houses, suppliers of information and communication technologies, telecommunications operators and other infrastructure providers, as well as education and training institutions and public authorities to assure the best success of this initiative.

This MoU is signed for an initial period ending 31 December, 2002 (tentative) following which time its terms and objectives will be reviewed by all Signatories.

The signatories are to follow the steps below.

  1. The MoU should be signed by an authorized representative empowered to sign such documents and morally bind the signatory organization.

  2. This signature must be carried out on the signature page provided - or an exact replica.

  3. The information on the signature page must be complete to become a Signatory. In particular, to exercise electronic voting rights the e-mail address must be stated, which the Signatory authorizes to be used on its behalf for voting. This authorized e-mail address, and other contact information of MoU participants of the Signatory, is given on the MoU registration form, supplied with this May 2000 MoU document.

  4. The signature page and the registration form should be returned to:

PROPOSING SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

The Signatories have the right to propose Special Interest Groups and to nominate person(s) from their organization to participate. Proposals for Special Interest Groups and for nominations should be submitted either by fax (see number above) or to the initial MoU coordinator: (TBA) by e-mail. The MoU registration form can be used also for submitting Special Interest Group (SIG) proposals.

LAUNCH CONFERENCE

The Signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding will be invited to attend a launch conference in March 2001 in Sheffield, England (tentative). This event will take place jointly with the FLISH conference on learning technologies.
