Subject: Franklin Award to Dr. Utsumi

Tak comments,about the Franklin Award--

> However, I am not sure that I should be entitled as the “pathfinder of

> famous tenor singer, once said that he would retire only when he would
> not hear any applaud. My effort of realizing the dream has been
> sustained with constant encouragement given by many electronic
> colleagues. I will then pledge that I shall follow Pavarotti's word.

> Incidentally, Benjamin Franklin is one of my revered American Greats
> with scientific, literacy and diplomatic talents. Thank you, John!! It
> is a very strong encouragement for me to continue my effort.

Those words remind me that the "truth" is that it is Tak who brings luster to the Award! Until that day in time when winning a Franklin means as much to the education world as winning an Oscar does for those in films, the *honor* to that first Pathfinder Award belongs to *me* (and to our Institute).

To be in the same *room* with Dr. Utsumi is an honor!

Those interested in helping to take some early steps toward elevating a world wide Franklin award process are invited to contact me. One day, maybe, Tak can look back with real pride and say to his "children"...I won the FIRST Franklin. When that happens, as I pray it will, the Franklin Pathfinder Trophy now in wit Tak will be as big
as is the man himself.
