Dear Tak:

Please accept my sincerest thanks for your efforts in organizing the Tampere conference on Global Distance Learning. It was a pleasure to meet you and an honor to be able to attend such a visionary event. Clearly, much of the future vision comes through your eyes, heart and spirit. Thank you for sharing them with us.

We here in Montana are anxious to move forward with the various projects that have been discussed. The Critical Illness and Trauma Foundation, Inc. is anxious to contribute to the content and format of distance education for emergency medical care providers including paramedics, nurses and physicians. We feel that the rural nature of our own state can provide an excellent test bed for the design, delivery and refinement of materials prior to transoceanic transmission.

We strongly agree that the Burns Telecommunications Center can and should play a vital role as one of the anchor points of the global network. What that means precisely and how it will be accomplished will unfold as the goals of the system and the hardware considerations become more clearly defined.

Once again, thank you for the honor of being able to attend and participate in such a prestigious event.

Sincerely

Nels D. Sanddal
