Dear Electronic Colleagues:

  1. I am very happy to inform you of our very successful mini CU-SeeMe demonstration made this morning at the occasion of East-West International Conference on Multimedia, Hypermedia, and Virtual Reality (MHVR'94), "New Media For Global Communication", Moscow, Russia

  2. Participants were:
    1. Active (Send/Receive) Participants:
      • Moscow conference site (with 29 Kbps TCP/IP node),
      • New York City site at Columbia Univ.,
      • Open University, U.K.,
      • Monterrey Institute of Technology, Monterrey, Mexico.

    2. Passive participants:
      • Keene State College in NH

  3. Our main objective of this demonstration was to get video and voice from Moscow, sine previous attempts during our GLHs on 8/21/93 and 7/7/94 were not successful.

Despite the limitations of the 29 Kbps at the Moscow conference site, we received a very clear black and white video, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Peter Brusilovsky, International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information, Moscow, and Mr. Nick Ivanov, Macsimum, Ltd., Moscow.

(Much deleted.)
