(4) Congratulations to your excellent final report of the project Regional
Distance Learning Network for Information Technology" which was financed

Since our project <www.uta.fi/EGEDL> was also financed by the InfoDev,
you are, in a sense, our brother or sister, and we would be very happy
to cooperate with you.

(5) Since Mr. Kamel and Ms. Shooky have been receiving our listserve

However, should you be interested in developing our collaborative

(a) For Manaus workshop;

Pls visit <http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve/global-univ-2000.html>, and then click,

is the official web site for the workshop, though still under construction.

(b) For Open University workshop;

Pls visit <http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve/global-univ-2000.html>, and then click,

realization of practical relationship and project.

Keep in touch.

Best, Tak

Subject: Message From RITSEC-Egypt

Dr. Utsumi,

My name is Dalia Moawad (female). I am originally a physician graduated from
School of Medicine- Ain Shams University, and currently project coordinator at
the RITSEC- Regional Information Technology and Software Engineering Center in
Cairo, Egypt. I have been, for the past year and a half, working with Ms.
Effat El Shooky (I'm not sure if you have been acquainted) on introduction of
Distance Learning programs in Egypt and the Arab Region. We have shared in the
implementation of a number of distance learning pilot projects for delievry of
academic degree programs and short-term professional training courses from
global schools to learners in the Arab world.

I have also recently started negotiating with IITRI-CERMUSA in the USA for
introduction of Telemedicine, which is an under-developed area in Egypt. We
have agreed with CERMUSA (Center for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas)
to have them put together for Egypt a Telemedicine Orientation Course for
delivery in Egypt. We have also agreed with them on starting the establishment
of Medical Informatics centers in Egypt.

My reason for contacting you is that I would appreciate it if I could be added
to your mailing list as I have found your correspondences extremely benificial
and inspiring to our activites in the area Tele-Learning and Tele-Medicine. I
would also like to share with you the RITSEC expereinces in both fields as we
progress for cross-reference and exchange of experiences.

Thank you and best regards.
