Dear Mr. Susukida:
==================

(1)  It was my great pleasure to have met with you at the open house ceremony
     of the FSUN in New York on 10/26th of last year.

(2)  At that time, you asked me if I can help Gifu prefecture government on
     the international event (either face-to-face and/or videoconferencing
     connection), since they are now very much interested in this field.

(3)  Yoko has been conducting many, many excellent videoconferencing events
     connecting many K-12 (kindergarten to 12th grade) children around the
     world with funds from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Ministry of
     Posts and Telecommunications, NTT and KDD, etc.

     I would strongly suggest that you get together with Yoko to discuss the
     possible events from Gifu's conference center -- where the FSUN once had
     a Ghali Award ceremony for the former Secretary General of the United
     Nations.

(4)  Victor, Teresita and other Manila people have now been organizing a
     mini-workshop in Manila -- pls see"Draft of Travel Grant Application to
     the National Science Foundation for the Manila Mini-Workshop -- 1 of 5:
     Travel Grant Application / 2 of 5: Workshop Schedule / 3 of 5: Grant
     Nominees / 4 of 5: Philippine Counterparts / 5 of 5: GUS in the
     Philippines Pilot Project Proposal - February 16-17, 2000" at

     <http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve/global-univ-2000.html>.

     This will accompany with a telemedicine demonstration -- pls see
     "Respectfully requesting Agilent Technologies' help - March 16, 2000" at
     the above same web site.

Dear Victor:
============

(5)  Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).

(6)  I shall anxiously wait your next msg after you have had a mtg with those
     people of broadband Internet companies, if they can perform a
     telemedicine demonstration and a videoconferencing during our mini-workshop in Manila.

(7)  Should you be interested in wireless broadband (3 Mbps) Internet with
     spread spectrum, fixed wireless approach, (within 5 mile range and with a line of sight),

     (a)  you may visit;

          <http://www.uta.fi/EGEDL/outline>, and go to BACKGROUND
          DOCUMENTS/INFRASTRUCTURE, and read

          1.   PACKET RADIO TECHNOLOGY
          2.   KARLNET BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET UNIT

     (b)  You may also visit;

          1.   <http://breezecom.com/Solutions/vailstudy.htm>
          2.   <http://breezecom.com/Solutions/Bonita.htm>

     These are just a few of technologies we will employ for our distance
     learning and telemedicine.

(8)  In any business project, it is very important to investigate/survey
     market potential, since the users are the ones who will pay for your services.

     This is why we need to have the mini-workshop first in Manila.

(9)  The telemedicine and videoconferencing demonstrations during the
     workshop is also to show us your capabilities to conduct advanced
     telecom delivery, too, which will be necessary for our global distance
     learning and telemedicine projects after the workshop.

(10) Ben once told me that your firm has a connection with local TV stations.

     You may then solicit their interest and cooperation, as Alex Rivas is
     now doing with TV Amazonas -- see his web site for our mini-workshop in
     Manaus, Amazona on May 31st, June 1 and 2.

     As you see there, Alex has already gathered many prominent
     organizations' supports -- even travel funds for several attendees from
     the US and Europe.

     I would like to strongly suggest that you and Manila people follow his suit.

Best, Tak

Dear Dr. Utsumi:

There are 2 companies introducing Broadband in the Philippines. I had talk to
them  if they can make the video-conferencing for our workshop.  They said
that they can and I'm setting an appointment with the company for the demo
together with Dra. Teresita Barcelo and company.  I'll inform you to any development.

Dr. Takeshi,
(1)  I'm still the same question - I look forward the business approach of
this project to waht extent and how do we make money?
(2) If your company can provide all the know-how, etc., I can look for a
company to match this requirement, capital and other government requirements,
etc.
