Dear Alex:
==========
(1) I recall that your previous msg said
that you are now preparing the web
site for your mini-workshop
in Manaus on May 31, June 1 and 2.
Howare things going with
it? Pls have it in English, in addition to Portuguese
and Spanish so that
we can understand.
Pls feel free to utilize any part of following web sites;
(a) http://www.friends-partners.org/GLOSAS/
(b) http://www.uta.fi/EGEDL/outline/
(c) http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/asia-pacific/index.html
(2) Pls prepare yours similar to (1)-(b) above, which was well developed by Timo and Tina.
If you prepare it well
for your mini-workshop, you can further
develop/expand it later
for your larger workshop, also.
This may also help your fund raising for the larger workshop.
The easy way may be just link with some of the pages of those web sites.
For example, you can
find bios and brief descriptions of the proposed
distance learning courses
available from our colleagues in (3 of 5:
Grant Nominees) of "Draft
of Travel Grant Application to the National
Science Foundation for
the Manila Mini-Workshop -- 1 of 5: Travel Grant
Application / 2 of 5:
Workshop Schedule / 3 of 5: Grant Nominees / 4 of
5: Philippine Counterparts
/ 5 of 5: GUS in the Philippines Pilot
Project Proposal - February
16-17, 2000" at
<http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve/global-univ-2000.html>.
You can find the bio and brief description of the course which
Ninfa can offer in this site, too.
Dear Ninfa:
===========
(3) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).
Dear John:
==========
(4) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT II).
Dear Alex:
==========
You may try his suggestion, if you have time.
You may need to collect
photos and bios of speakers, and ask them to
call John's phone number
to record their greetings or brief descriptions of their presentations.
Dear John:
==========
Can this be done with RealPlayer's software for any web page by ourselves?
At least, I know that the Window 98 version of PowerPoint can
include animation and audio, but I have never seen them on web site yet.
Dear David:
===========
(5) Pls cooperate with Alex on this matter
-- for example, brief
descriptions of possible
distance learning courses available from your
UTK may be included
in this web site.
This means that you would
need to solicit the cooperation of your Latin
American Center.
If they already have, Alex may just need to link to
them -- let's talk about
this when I visit you on 3/14th and 15th.
Dear Ihor:
==========
(6) Pls follow Alex's suit for your mini-workshop at the Open University/UK.
Best, Tak

Subject: OFFER TO USE VOICE-ALERT from FRANKLIN
Cc: Roger Lee Boston <rboston@tenet.edu>
Hi Tak-- I know you have many conferences coming
up, and I wanted to
make sure that you know we will offer you, free,
not just our
Voice-Alert service, but the "handling" of the
look of each
presenter's page. I think you recall we
used this by having all the
presenters give a short audio presentation about
their subject, in
advance, to help build the audience.
With all the new audio tools available, I think
you should also
consider "webcasting" all of your proceedings,
which can now be done
very very easily through some new audio platforms
we have at hand.
Let me know the person that is handling these
arrangements and I will
work with them. I can't do better than
free. But, to see how we
used it, visit http://38.214.205.100/gld3/278.html...then
think of
this...in those two circles that show Global
Learn Day, we can put
the name of the conference and whatever else
you want.
I am sending a copy of this to Roger as I know
he is always your
number one TeckMaster.
Kind regards...I am following your messages with
amazement...how do
you do all that you do?
