Subject: Update on Regional projects
To: utsumi@www.friends-partners.org
Tak ....
Can you please send me the latest update on the regional activities ?
<<Pls visit my "Outline of Report to InfoDev" -- particularly its PART II.>>
<<I wanted to finish it (Section II of PART I) in
this month, but
because of a sudden invitation from Fiji, I have to do it
after coming
back from there on 12/4th.>>
I talked with Lane Smith and he'll provide an update on the African portion.
<<Yes, I have been waiting for it.>>
It appears that I erred in saving my e-mails prior to Oct 14th
online with
AOL rather than downloading them ... and I lost some of your important
mail items. Could you please resend them to me if they are convenient
to send -- sorry about that.
<<Pls visit Global University System Late 1999

Steve compiled my listserve distributions there so that
you can find
most of my previous distributions there.>>
The InfoDev conference is going well and I saw Tapio a few
times ... he
says to say 'Hello". He and I have each made our separate
rounds, as well
as rounds together.
Seems there is the January 2000 edition of an electronic publication
called
TechKnowLogia closing receipt of articles by the 19th .. the topic
being
covered is Distance Higher Education. The electronic magazine
has a higher
management audience, and is distributed free of charge. The current
cirulation is approximately 10,000 upper management personnel.
I met the
President of Knowledge Enterprise, Inc. (Dr. Wadi Haddad, Ph.D)
who asked that
I submit a piece on the GLU, which I will do ... of course, I
will pass the
draft of the brief article I write to you, Tapio, David, and others
as
required before submitting it .. I thought I would take extracts
from the
handout that Tapio had and the various regional projects for the
article.
<<Thanks for your publicity effort. You can find
necessary materials
at;
(a) My web at <http://www.friends-partners.org/GLOSAS>,
(b) Timo's web at <http://www.uta.fi/EGEDL/>, and
(c) Steve's web at <http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/asia-pacific/index.html>.
Of course, they are inter-linked each other. Steve's
is most well
organized in overall sense.>>
Regards,
Ken
