(1) Dear Steve:
===========

Many thanks for your msgs (ATTACHMENT I and II).

I visited your new page of listing my listserve distributions in your
web at Global University System Late 1999 Correspondence"
<http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/global-univ-99/index.html>.

All of the msgs are now accessible -- a few days ago, GEOCITIES gave me
an error msg in Japanese.

Your home page at <http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/asia-pacific/index.html> is getting very good -- as you might have noticed, I
often cited your URLs in my recent msgs.

One suggestion:

Your home page does not mention any about our Tampere event. So,
I would suggest that you may include;

Tampere Workshop (August, 1999)

below the Proposed Conference Activities" of Tokyo Workshop
(Spring 2000), and make it clickable to
<http://www.uta.fi//EGEDL/>.

(2) Dear Ihor:
==========

Many thanks for your msgs (ATTACHMENT III).

Yes, I visited your web <http://www.lim.lviv.ua/english/de>. This is a
lot better than before, but I could not find the greetings your people
gave during our GLH from Manaus, Amazona in October of 1998. Are they
now available through streaming audio/video? Where?

The slides of your and Mykola's presentations during our Tampere event
were in Timo's web at <http://hoklpc25.uta.fi/egedl/outline/> once
before. However, I cannot find them there now. Are they also available
at your URL?

I am particularly interested in Mykola's slide which showed the
Internet diagram of Ukrain with only 1.5 Mbps line to outside
world.

I recall the US Dept. Education newletter which said that
almost 85% of the ELEMENTARY schools in the US already have
it.

I would like to show the Mykola's slide at my future presentations
to appeal the urgent need of global broadband Internet with Global
Service Trust Fund (GSTF).

BTW, your email often bounced back recently. I hope you will receive
this msg safely.

Dear Mykola:
============

Pls check with him on this matter -- particularly if he has
received my revised draft of his pilot project proposal which I
sent to him a few days ago. Thanks.

Best, Tak

Sensei, as per your request, I'll try to keep up with filing your
correspondence on the Web. The programming is not pretty,
but I hope it will prove useful. The rest of 1999 will surely
fill a directory, so it is entitled /global-univ-99/.
The menu page index.html is on my college's server:

Global University System Late 1999 Correspondence
http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/global-univ-99/index.html

The whole directory with most of the correspondence, however, is at a
free Website with Japanese banners for the time being. So for example,
the earliest and most recent messages currently are as follows:

Trip to Tokyo and Manila - September 16, 1999
http://www.geocities.co.jp/CollegeLife-Labo/4001/global-univ-99/9-16-a.html

Revised handout of Tampere event - September 18, 1999
http://www.geocities.co.jp/CollegeLife-Labo/4001/global-univ-99/9-18-b.html

There are also selected previous messages, particularly World Regional
Project Summaries, some of which have been moved here from the
/asia-pacific/ directory, introduced earlier, which now focuses on just
the overall picture and definitive Pacific/Asia documents:

Global University System Asia-Pacific Framework
http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/asia-pacific/index.html

When my college's servers are slow or down, just go to the mirror sites:

http://www.geocities.co.jp/CollegeLife-Labo/4001/global-univ-99/
http://www.geocities.co.jp/CollegeLife-Labo/4001/asia-pacific/

The home address should be working again soon. I started over with compiling
your messages on the Web, and it may be more adequate now:

Global University System Late 1999 Correspondence:
http://www.kagawa-jc.ac.jp/~steve_mc/global-univ-99/index.html
Mirror Site:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/CollegeLife-Labo/4001/global-univ-99/index.htm

That was the last big project I was able to do between the semesters, as
full-time classes are starting again. I'm willing to do whatever I
possibly can to help the project. I hope everything is all right. Best,
Steve
