Dear Pureza:
============

(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).

You are now making a very good progress!! I am impressed!!

(2) It is a very good idea to have a one-day seminar/workshop on e-learning
with attendees of universities, secondary and elementary schools,
hospitals, libraries and local governmental agencies, right after the
first graduation ceremony of your Cebu Distance Learning Center, --
particularly with blessings of the Commission on Higher Education as
well as the Department of Education Culture and Sports Region V11.

(3) The theme of this seminar/workshop could be the "Creating New Economy of
Knowledge Society in the 21st Century."

This is to emphasize the need of e-learning mechanism for outreach
learners of all ages via Internet, i.e., "Education for All" at anywhere and anytime.

(4) I hope this event will initiate the formation of a coalition for the
community development in Cebu with the use of broadband Internet.

(5) BTW, can you find any location where there is an Internet access at high
speed -- preferably at 256 Kbps?

If so, we can demonstrate various web sites, web teaching platforms,
videoconferencing with NetMeeting and even Internet telephony free of charge.

(6) In your previous msg, you mentioned that you will invite Japanese
Consulate General in Cebu for your graduation ceremony.

You may ask him for a grant application of the Grass Root" Fund of
Japanese government which provides a seed money (up to US$100,000) to
small to medium size ventures.

An example of this application for Pakistan can be retrieved at http://www.friends-partners.org/GLOSAS/Tampere_Conference/Final_Report/Compilation_of_comments/12059_B_Shahab_Khan/12059_B_Shahab_Khan.html

Since Japanese bureaucratic governmental procedures take long time, it
may not be in time for this event, but you may try anyway.

Dear Moti:
==========

(7) We would be very delighted if you can kindly help this event, e.g., with
your inspiring keynote speech.

Best, Tak

Dear Tak,
With pleasure I wish to inform you that after
disseminating the information of your presence during
the Cebu Distance Learning Center graduation on April
18. 2001, the Commission on Higher Education as well as
the Department of Education Culture and Sports Region
V11, inspire me to conduct a one day seminar
-workshop on Distance education with you as the
keynote speaker. Representative from different schools
and universities from region V11 would be there.
This new mode of learning stirs the enthusiasm of
different school and university authorities, so we at
the CDLC are expecting to have a lot of participants.
Please give us your suggestion on the theme of the affair.
Hope to hear from your favorable response the
soonest, so we could finalize our preparations.

Respectfully,
ms. pureza Veloso
