However, since they encouraged that you should apply a

(4) For this fund raising, you need to prepare a brief description in English.
The one you gave me during the ICDE conference in
Sao Paulo was
written in Portuguese and not for fund raising.

(5) Previously I sent you the CV of Mr. Ron Jones and the
materials of Derek
Lovejoy Partnership (DLP).
Unfortunately, Mr. Jones passed away with a heart attack during his trip to Italy.
My niece, Yuki Goshi, who worked for DLP then kindly arranged

Dear Dr Takeshi
(1) First, I apologize for the lack of communications. That's
the year's end
rush in the university. The government always leave for the last
moment the
liberation of funding, and we have up to the 15th of december
to finish all
the projects. That's why I have spent most of my time in Brasilia
and was
impossible to attend the Caracas meeting.
(2) British Council people were not very helpful. They recommend
to try again
next year. Let's think about an alternative to have you plus our
friends. As I
told you before, our greatest challenge is the lack of people
to work on the
distance education project. Can you something about, we can provide
full
accommodation for someone who wants to come to help.
(3) Finally we still don't have the RNP installed. The two
pieces of equipment
are expected shortly.
I hope we can meet in the very near future.

Dear Utsumi-san
May I first introduce myself, I am a Director in the Edinburgh
office of
Derek Lovejoy Partnership and following the unfortunate death
of Mr Ron
Jones have been in recent contact with Yuki Goshi. She kindly
passed on
your details and explained a little about the Glosas project in
Brazil.
I am not sure how much Yuki may have explained, but I worked
with her and
Ron in the Manchester office of DLP for 3 years and more recently,
prior to
her move to Northern Ireland, she worked for me in Edinburgh.
I met Yuki about 10 days ago, just before she returned to Japan,
and I
promised to make contact with you to see if things could be progressed
with
your exciting project. I believe that you had already received
information
from Mr Jones regarding his experience and cv, sadly this information
is no
longer relevant.
I had mentioned to Yuki that an obvious potential successor
to Ron would be
Mr Duncan Thomas. Duncan is a fellow Director (past Chairman)
in our
Leicester office and has very specific experience in relation
to Further and
Higher Education establishments. Although Ron had extensive experience
of
International projects, Duncan is possibly the most experienced
masterplanning/planning professional in the UK in relation to
University/College campus design and would appear to be well suited
to this
type of project.
In combination with Duncan, the Edinburgh office would welcome
the
opportunity of developing this fascinating and challenging project
with you
and would be delighted to have the chance to continue the contact
made
through Yuki.
I attach a couple of relevant CV's and would ask that you contact
me
directly if you require any further information. I am not sure
exactly what
information you may have received to date, however, if appropriate,
I would
be happy to send you full details, project sheet experience and
